Japanese
-
Quake Gear: Before being bought, Quake Gear did over $12 million worth of business with Japan as a result for the promotions done by our team. When they could not sell through traditional sales channels due to the bureaucracy in distribution and the pharmaceutical regulations, they turned to the Internet. Through the Web site and a store in Niftyserve (in Japan), they sold a variety of disaster preparedness products. They were online before Kobe and after the earthquake the Web site was the source for preparedness infomation for the Japanese media. As a result received hundreds of thousands of dollars of orders within the first few weeks after Kobe. With careful promotion in target newsgroups, articles submitted to the press and positioning in the search enginees, we penetreated the Japanese market like they could have never dreamed possible.
- Online Gifts: They were getting sparse Japanese traffic and after we did
the promotion in search engines traffic increased considerably and they
started having sales immediatly. (They will not release actual numbers.)
- Puncture Cure: Promoted in Newsgroups focusing on bicycling and international trade. They received a flood of inquiries and orders from around the world. They are currently negotiating joint ventures in a number of counties and are currently shipping large quanities to India and China. Puncture Cure is now setting up joint ventures around the world in 6 countries as a result of our promotion.
- We have also done the online promotion for AT&T-Japan and the Link Exchange (LE, the largest online advertising agency worldwide) in Japan.
German
- Motorola: public relations on a regular basis, as well as writing their Annual Report for Germany for 1997. www.motorola.de
- Deutsche Funkruf (DFR), a major private paging service provider in Germany. The service mark is TeLMI and their Website is www.telmi.de. They started with about 1000 hits per month at the beginning and are now at more than 20,000 hits per month.
- PSINet (Allemagne): our Frankfurt press service assisted PSINet in a strategic consulting program, creating and implementing a
partners' program and a full-range PR program. The goal was not to generate traffic on their Web site, but to generate traffic in their network.
- Lost Highway, a film by David Lynch (www.lost-highway.de is no longer connected), who also made Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Dune, etc.
- Senator Films bought the German rights on Lost Highway. Promotional tactics used included cross-linking, banner exchange with fan pages, index reg. automatic news feeding with "mystic phrases" from the film, such as "Dick Laurent ist tot", for eight weeks. We visited German chat sites and promoted the film. Online press-releases to e-zines and fan-sites. Online "Gewinnspiel" (contest), spreading promotional material to Webmasters (such as books, T-Shirts, Posters).
- Comedian Harmonists, a new film by Senator Film (Same promotion tactics as "Lost Highway")
- D-IMMO: , one of the largest real estate online-services in Germany. Promotion tactics included lots of press releases to all kind of magazines. They can be seem on the Website by clicking on "Impressum"
- SUZUKI Motor (Germany): our Berlin team built a page for each Suzuki dealership in Germany (400 of them: see sample, to get an idea of such a company-profile, click on "Nur Händler mit Online-Firmenprofil anzeigen"). We have developed some of these dealerships into their own Website (example: "Dumke und Luett").
Dutch:
- Hewlitt-Packard's banner campaign Mopyfish, for advertising an HP printer. One downloads the screen-saver (named "Mopyfish"), and the fish takes on a life of its own, asking for attention. The more one prints, the happier the fish becomes. The banner won the "Best Banner of the Year" award at the Webvertise '98 conference in Amsterdam.
- Eclectic Executive Search
, with offices in Holland and Philadelphia. They are a headhunting office for SAP jobs for Oracle and Peoplesoft consultants. We have designed and worked out a very extensive promotion program including:
- strategic mutual link planning
- PR services
- updating job opportunities on www.eclectic-usa.com
- Website access analyses
- Posting to relevant Newsgroups
- Submitting and achieve high results in certain indexes. (Check
Lycos, Infoseek, Hot 100, Altavista and Hotbot on 'SAP jobs' all top
20 results)
The number of visitors went up from 20-25 per day (initial count) to 150 per day. Since May, 1998, we've received nearly 100 application forms per month (used to be 5-8 per month before). They have placed approximatly 40 persons
now with top consulting firms, which earns them around $40 K per placement. Eclectic is a model case for a very targeted audience group, which is good but hard to reach via the net. The submissions in the indexes resulted in a 35% increase of new visitors.
